24.10.2020-Viesta and the first cloudy day in a long time

Dear friends,

I can now cross off rescuing a jumping fish that also seems to be suicidal from my to-do list, after it jumped onto a rock as its first act after my rescue attempt.

The day started late and with a cloudy sky. After the previous day, I expected more from our sleeping arrangement, but humans still can't control the weather, so we headed into the city of Vieste after getting ready. It was truly beautiful, although I didn't find the rock needle, which is supposed to be a landmark of the city, as impressive as the tiny alleys with many steps that were only suitable for our bicycles. We wandered through the alleys and underwent an excellent free-arm muscle training. My enthusiasm turned into a storm when I thought we could go to the nearby lighthouse, but unfortunately, it was on an island directly in front of the bay and could only be reached by boat. However, we could walk all the way to the very front on the longest extension of the rocks. That may sound boring at first, but it was super cool because there was only a small path right past the church, leading to the back, past a shaky pier, straight to the rock ledge.

To our surprise, garlic was growing there and the bulbs with withered flowers were lying everywhere, but the best was yet to come. There were little rabbits up there. We don't know if someone had abandoned them there, but they were domesticated and used to humans, although the smallest ones were only as big as my hand. They were also being fed, but I couldn't find any other signs of human intervention. Overwhelmed with joy, we then went to the new town because Dad was very confused about the fact that he hadn't seen a harbor so far.

While driving through the city at a leisurely pace, I could see cats everywhere, big ones, small ones, striped ones, black and white ones, there was really everything, and sometimes they had chosen the most peculiar sleeping places.

To make sure we really rode through the entire bay and saw everything, we headed to the other side. There was no nice little town here, only white cliffs, a small hidden beach, and a suicidal fish. After wading back through the small river that flowed into the sea at that spot, we set off, and the rest of the day I spent stroking a dog, being delighted by the fact that fish don't feel as disgusting to touch as I expected, and reading a book. By the way, I'm done now, I'm extremely happy, and Dad is acting a little annoyed because I couldn't put it down. Well.

He went for another walk, then I enjoyed the glowing lighthouse, and now he's already in bed, grumbling about how terrible it would be to sleep next to me (because he claims I always take up the entire bed, pff).

See you soon, and the weather isn't doing what it should anyway, so just enjoy it.
