Hong Kong... Here you can find the world's:
- longest suspension bridge
- largest airport
- most expensive apartments
- highest-earning McDonald's
- largest (and probably worst) light show in the world
- grossest people
- largest amusement park
- most skyscrapers in one city
- most diverse modes of transportation
- cheapest restaurant with a Michelin star
and many other good and gross things...
... and in case anyone is wondering why many Thais, Vietnamese, Chinese, and more have long fingernails on their little finger > YES, it is mainly used for picking the nose here. Disgusting... just like the fact that everyone in the Asian region, both women and men, spit, grunt, smack their lips, pick their nose, and more. It can hardly get any more disgusting. We regularly feel nauseous and sometimes need a few hours to recover from what we have seen.
Other than that, Hong Kong was very entertaining. We have seen Hong Kong from top to bottom, right to left, and diagonally, and we would not want to live here. We went to the cinema, ate good pancake soufflé crèmes brûlées, enjoyed Peking duck, cheered and bet on 5-hour horse races, stayed up until early morning, went to a 'sky bar' with an artificial sky..., took care of a dog, visited the Museum of Medical Science, and 'lived' in a 5.5m² room.
By the way, bargaining here has taken on new dimensions (unlike Southeast Asia):
Herbert: 'How much for the bag?'...
Woman: '350 HK$'
Herbert: '...ya...'
Woman taps on the calculator: '350 HK$ normal but for you 280'
Herbert: 'no...'
Woman: 'okok 200'
Herbert says to Steffi: 'Let's take it for 200'
Woman: '150... 150 good price'
Herbert and Steffi leave
Woman shouts after us: '140... 130... 110'
We leave... The woman swears.
We buy the bag elsewhere for 105... and that was still way too much... we knew that. However, the elderly ladies there already get so angry if you negotiate any longer that it became too stupid for us.
Viewer question: we're hungry, we go to a restaurant that offers lunch menus. We order different dishes. Very cool... but very very very spicy... chili everywhere. We like spicy food... but we weren't prepared for this. We sweat like crazy. The food consists mostly of chili. Who can guess the name of the restaurant??
By the way, this place has the highest housing prices in the world... If you want to live in a cage with about 2m², you pay about 200-300€ per month without a valid rental agreement.
But in the case of Hong Kong, pictures probably speak for themselves. Therefore: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12a6XHke730C72K9TG2WutWOs39S04inx?usp=sharing
