The idea of leaving the window open overnight (with a mosquito net) turned out to be a mistake at 05:45 AM. Because at exactly that time, the owner of the hostel opened the rickety metal gate. Since our window faces the courtyard and the lobby, which is secured by this gate, it felt like the drummer of a rock band was giving a solo performance on metal drums right next to our bed. From that moment on, sleep was out of the question for me. At around 09:30 AM, we go to buy baguette and iced coffee for breakfast. On the way back to the hostel, we see a man breaking down a slightly larger animal at his food stall (it is not unusual for animals to be 'processed' on the street). It's difficult to identify the creature, as the fur has been removed and the head has been severed. After ruling out pig and goat, we believe it can only be one thing - a dog (later research confirms that dog is indeed consumed here). We are not disgusted or outraged, but the sight is somewhat surreal. We sit on the hostel's terrace with bread and drinks, and until 4:00 PM, we catch up on all the things we couldn't do on Koh Rong (trip planning, video, blog, etc.).

In the evening, we are drawn to the streets once again and we visit a night market that doesn't meet our expectations, a traffic island with a temple that tourists are only allowed to visit for a fee, and then a street food stall that tries to overcharge us. All in all, it was a successful trip - but the walk was truly beautiful.
