Unfortunately, we still don't have THE big solution for you, but there are a few updates about Rosti's health and some nice anecdotes to cheer you up.
The morning started abruptly and we were a bit irritated with each other. David mostly worked alone to find the cause of Rosti's fluid loss in the engine and took photos for the motor workshop (but those who know us know that we are still an unbeatable team ;) and quickly made up).
The revelation: According to our knowledge, the French workshop was right that the fluid mixture was leaking through the cylinder head gasket. But what does the workshop have to say about it?
We wouldn't find out until a few hours later. For now, we were still at the motorhome parking lot, even with German neighbors since yesterday evening.
I actually ran into these neighbors this morning when David was disposing our trash.
At first, the gentleman thought I was French (quite flattering), but when he heard my almost perfect German, he looked at our license plate.
Anyway, he asked for my help in finding the address of a workshop he needed to visit with his NEW motorhome. His transmission had been damaged and since the repair, his front axle is crooked. Oh well. That sounded familiar. But luckily, I was able to help him quickly with inventions like smartphones and Google. So I was even MORE helpful than the nice French lady from the day before, since I understood and spoke his language! A good feeling. And now we knew that we weren't alone in our motorhome troubles.
With this comforting thought, we set off around noon to our new favorite bar with the good-looking waiter.
Today, he looked even better, in my opinion, that should be banned. And on top of that, he served us great vegetarian meals, a few sentences in German, and much-needed Wi-Fi.
We communicate in English and by now we are on a first-name basis (Pierre)! David and I spend a lot of time here.
Oh, and before I forget: David also had another phone call with the motor workshop. They received the pictures, but they interpret them in their favor... which means: According to them, the problem is the valve cover gasket and not the cylinder head gasket. The difference seems to be that they are not at fault in one case. Great...
We'll probably have to make more phone calls before we know how to proceed.
But for now, you're all up to date! And you also have some pictures to see.
Maybe there will be more tomorrow.
Until then,
David, Lotti, and Rosti
