On the volcano

Izu - a peninsula near Tokyo with many hot springs and therefore popular for weekend wellness.

You can take a cable car to Mount Omuro.

Actually, you could take a walk on the crater rim, but the path was closed due to strong winds and as soon as I was back down, the cable car service was also stopped.
