Hello Cairns!

Hey everyone!

Two days ago we arrived in warm Cairns and to our surprise we were welcomed by rain. Fortunately, it has only rained for one day so far, otherwise it has been sunny and around 30 degrees.

Upon arriving at the hostel, we were upgraded and got a 4-bed room, which was a true luxury for us compared to our previous experiences. After settling into the room, we immediately met two super nice girls in the neighboring room. It turns out that both of them live very close to us, and one of the girls has a boyfriend who lives in Delbrück. What a coincidence! We got along so well with both of them that we want to meet up with them here and also in Germany.

Today we are moving to another hostel in Cairns, so we will stay here for another week. In the meantime, we are looking for a farm where we can do some WWOOFing.

Since swimming is not allowed in the sea in Cairns because of jellyfish, there are lagoons right by the sea. They are free to access and provide a good alternative to swimming in the sea.

Unfortunately, we still haven't seen any kangaroos, but at night there are oversized flying foxes/bats flying by our balcony.
