Lust auf ein Abenteuer??

In February 2023, there will be a ceramic workshop in Morocco once again.

It is truly an unforgettable experience. Here is some information about it:

WORKSHOP: At the potter's house in the village of Agdz, we can learn his traditional way of pottery making. This allows us to delve into the ancient history of ceramics.

The clay is dug from the earth, processed, and fired in the clay kiln, just as it was 2000 years ago.

The potter Khinini is a patient and thorough teacher. I am happy to assist newcomers in learning ceramic techniques. Individual ceramic works are also possible.

OUR LIFE AROUND IT: We stay in a small hostel built in the traditional architectural style of the Draa Valley with clay. The hostel has the label "green key" for its ecological standard.

The rooms have 2-3 beds and a bathroom (single rooms are available with a single room surcharge).

The food is prepared in the hostel in a typical local style using fresh and delicious regional products.

The palm gardens and the clay village invite you to take walks through the oasis. Over the past 25 years, I have come to know the place and its people better and better. I am happy to share my knowledge and contacts with you.

If you wish, we can invite guests or go on visits.

If anyone is coming from a different direction, we will wait for them at the airport in Marrakech.

PROGRAM

Day 1: Flight to Marrakech. Overnight stay in a hostel in the Medina. Dinner at Jemaa el Fna

Day 2: Drive over the High Atlas. Arrival in Agdz in the evening

Day 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 Workshop- Making traditional jars, plates, tajines, and/or charcoal burners

Day 7: Visit to the souk, then free time (e.g. for the hammam)

Day 8 - 12 (we divide the days according to our wishes): Hike to Tamnougalte through the oasis gardens. Lunch and tour of the kasbah. Painting and polishing the ceramics. Loading the kiln, which will be fired in the afternoon and evening using palm fronds. Unloading the kiln and transporting it to the hostel. Excursion with cargo mopeds in the Draa Valley

Day 13: A day that everyone can design for themselves

Day 14: Return journey over the High Atlas. A stop at André Heller's garden "Anima" is possible. Dinner at Jemaa el Fna

Day 15: Return flight. If we are quick in the morning, we might be able to visit the old Koranic school or the Bahiha Palace

COSTS: €1,450.00

Simple accommodation and local food, water for meals, and Transportation in the country by minibus or rental car.
