Day 7. Ferdorakos - Stopfenreuth 73km

In the morning, I relaxed a lot. Coffee and breakfast at the tent, had a long phone call with Nedim and then left for the town around 11:30. I had planned for a half-day off, but I realized that I needed something else. So I took the time to structure my last few days. During a long lunch, I spent my last Hungarian Forints and started cycling at around 2pm. Crossing the border to Austria was easy. However, the houses and traffic density changed a lot. The highlight of the change was Neusiedeln am See Gewerbepark and Outlet Center. They probably had everything to buy that I didn't need at that moment :-D. After that, dark clouds pushed me through the wind turbine fields in Burgenland and Lower Austria until I reached the Danube. Hidden behind the Rhine meadows, there was a camping meadow right by the river. It even had an observation platform that could also serve as a shelter in bad weather. It was wonderful to reach this place through the floodplain forests. Two more bike travelers who were cycling along the Danube, Maxime and Ismael, also arrived. We had dinner together by the Danube shore and shared stories from our lives. Until the sky turned purple and then dark. I really enjoyed this evening.
