The first stop outside of Germany was in Bruges, Belgium. A sweet city with lots of charm, chocolate, and crochet granny doilies. The city center is very touristy but really beautiful! After that, we continued driving to France, where we found a free parking spot just after the border for the first night. It was raining the whole time, so we prepared our first meal in the car and went to sleep. Unfortunately, it was too cramped with Naomi in bed, so she escaped to the driver's cabin in the middle of the night because she didn't know how to lie down either. So the first night was rather restless. In the morning, we drove straight to the coast. Between Calais and Boulogne is the coast la côte d'opale, which is known for its chalk cliffs. A beautiful route from which you can even see the chalk cliffs of England. We found a nice secluded spot near the sea (not so easy as there are small gates everywhere to prevent caravans or Buddha buses from wild camping on the beach) and had a nice breakfast. Setting up, washing dishes, taking down, and pushing boxes under the bed keep you busy for a few hours. But no matter, we have time and the most beautiful weather. Naomi could finally hop around and bury her beef scalp (for the first time, otherwise it goes straight into her stomach). Now we continue along the coast towards the south. We still can't really cope with the language, but Northern France is really more beautiful than we thought :-)
