Yesterday we arrived in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. And you know us: food is important. So we treated ourselves to crocodile fritters (tasted more like chicken), ostrich and antelope meat. Our favorite: ostrich meat, delicious, delicious.
This morning we visited the Victoria Falls. They are deeper than the Iguazu Falls (see South America blog), but not as long with just under 1700m. It roars and splashes, even though we are here in a season of low water. The pictures are not 'bad', but rather blurred by the spray - that needs to be said ;-)
The Victoria Falls form part of the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. You can easily cross over to Zambia without much control via a bridge - life can be so uncomplicated.
Our very British-looking accommodation increases our anticipation for the next destinations: even here we have already been visited by a warthog named 'Pumpa', mongooses and red deer.
Tomorrow we have to get up at 4:45 am, because then we will go on a birdwatching tour on the Zambezi River. In the afternoon we will continue to Chobe in Botswana
