Heading south on Highway 101: The sun is back!

Montesano - Bruceport

From now on, we are traveling south on the famous Highway 101!

Amazing, we can't believe it. And, what makes it even better: The sun is back!

A BEAUTIFUL spring day! It couldn't be more perfect!

It feels like we're flying through the streets, it's going so well!

Today we also met the first cyclist (bikepacker) in America. He's riding from Canada to Mexico (which many people do here!) - in just 20 days! Phew! He said he himself doesn't know if he can make it ;-) But we believe in him!

We prefer to take it slower.. and we plan to reach San Francisco in about 1 month.

We stayed overnight at a campsite. Here, along the popular cyclist route (Highway 101), there's always a spot for hikers and cyclists, no matter how full it is they have to take you in. And, the spots are cheaper for cyclists too.

But at this time of year, the campsite was still completely empty. We put our $15 in an envelope and dropped it into the payment box. Once the sun was gone, it got really cold!

As beautiful as it was during the day, it got extremely cold in the evenings!
