Hello everyone,
Now is the time, after waking up today, pack our things and then head from our campsite ⛺️ to the ferry port.
Our ship 🚢 departs at 1:00 PM, but we are supposed to be there one hour earlier. We want to quickly refuel in Germany for 1.11€ before there's only premium fuel in Scandinavia. And since we don't want to arrive at the last minute, we'll leave around 10:15 AM.
The check-in is smooth at a drive-thru counter, we just have to provide the booking number and our IDs, and we'll receive 4 boarding passes and the vehicle card.
Now it's time to wait until the vehicles are loaded onto the ship. Lotte gets to sit on my lap and help me drive the motorhome onto the ship. We have decided to let Nala play with another dog 🐶 before putting her to sleep in the motorhome. We'll drive in once, turn at the front, and then drive back towards the exit... great, we'll be in the first row to get out later.
Lock the motorhome and go up to the deck. Lotte is still fascinated that we drove our motorhome onto a ship 🚢.
Once we reach the upper deck, we enjoy the departure and the first 30 minutes of the crossing to Trelleborg.
If you ever travel to Sweden 🇸🇪 via this route, remember not to take a tour around the chalk cliffs beforehand, because you'll get to see them on the ferry ⛴ as well. We drive past the chalk cliffs and the Königsstuhl before heading out to sea towards Sweden. A quick lunch snack and the 4 hours pass quickly in calm waters. We have arrived in Trelleborg. Since we registered Nala online with the Swedish authorities in advance, we can simply pass through the controls without having to stop and register her.
On this day, we drive all the way to Kivik, where we park directly by the Baltic Sea for free 😃.
The day is over and as always, there's only one thing left...
Until tomorrow.....
