Hello my dear ones,
after two whole weeks in Hong Kong, I finally managed to set up a 'blog' again to tell you about my new Asian adventure. The first week was honestly a bit boring, so I had nothing to report yet.
But the first days looked like this: registration at the university, visiting various offices and completing all the paperwork, trying to understand the course selection system, and of course buying all the stuff that you either forgot or didn't think of. IKEA was the most popular place among exchange students in the first days, as everyone still needed bedding or other things. I also underestimated a bit and thought 20° was summer and had to buy an additional fleece blanket and sweaters. ;)
Otherwise, I explored the campus and Kennedy Town (the district where my dormitory is) and had to realize that Hong Kong Island consists only of stairs and steep hills (see photos). Super exhausting but well, at least I get my daily workout ;) Anyway, on Fridays there was finally the 'Orientation' event for exchange students where I finally got to know other students. Yaaaay. Since then, fortunately, it hasn't been so boring anymore and I've been quite busy, which I will tell you about in the following posts ;)
About the dormitory: So I stayed in a student hall at the university in a double room. My roommate is also an exchange student and very nice, and overall it's better than I thought. The toilets and showers in the hallway are acceptable, and everything is cleaned very often and there's never a traffic jam (despite 24 girls in the hallway ;)) I can definitely endure my stay here for the next few months.
Well, writing has never been my strength, so you'd better look at the photos and I'll get started on the next post. ;)
Warm greetings from Hong Kong <3
