#2 The first night in the motorhome is always difficult. The switch to a 1.40 meter narrow double bed is still difficult for Icke and me. If necessary, we could convert the table into a third bed, but that's not so easy – and maybe even in the middle of the night... No, there must be another way. And lo and behold: there was another way.
The alarm clock rang at 8 o'clock. Nevertheless, we only left our pitch at 10 o'clock as usual. I believe that even if we could get up at 6 o'clock, we still wouldn't be ready earlier.
When we were finally on the highway, I discovered a small puddle of water in the aisle. It was actually just a small trail, but it made me restless. My infallible instinct as a motorhome professional didn't deceive me this time either, I smirked at Icke. It was leaking somewhere around the water tank. But where? We drove to a rest area and started searching for the cause. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and at some point, Icke asked me when this motorhome professional would finally arrive. Idiot instead of professional – yes, I know. The water tank was full. My only solution was that it may have been too full. I drained ten, fifteen liters. And from then on, it only leaked when we were going too fast around a curve. We can live with that.
One more word about Berry's stroller. I promised, after all. Oh yes, it's a dog stroller, that's important to Icke. We quickly grabbed one for 65 euros on Ebay – it's almost new. That's true. But it's also true that the new dog stroller doesn't drive straight. The two double wheels in the front go in four different directions. At the same time. You can only push the stroller the other way, but the handlebar is too short for that. You step on the wheels when you push it. So pulling with the double wheels in the front, that's possible. But then Berry is looking in the wrong direction, that was the argument. We took almost an hour to walk 100 meters. I'm sure if someone had seen or heard us, or maybe just one of them, they would have locked us up. Even in Franconia.
By the way, we are now in France. Belfort. Beautiful little town. Great pitch right in front of the gates of the old town. Everything is free. Electricity, water, disposal. I'll see if they even have a container for the children's dog stroller...
By the way, all photos are taken by my Icke – except for the... Well, you know that yourself.
