A special kind of lazy day

Today was a day with lots of sunshine and we wanted to use it for a club meal. In the morning, Gerd and Ricci's crew set off on a shopping trip to Bad Ems. That sounds easier than it is: food for 40 portions of starter, main course and dessert - that's enough to fill a few shopping carts. And then Gerd takes his time to select the best products, organic if possible. You can taste it. I have never eaten such good, tasty spaghetti bolognese at an Italian restaurant as Gerd's. And I have eaten a lot... The salad as a starter was excellently seasoned and the ice cream with raspberry sauce and cream was a dream again.

It was the perfect end to a day of lazing around, with most of the motorhome friends not finding the peace and quiet to put their feet up. They washed and ironed, tinkered and cleaned the motorhome and diligently explored the surrounding area. Towards the afternoon, Ricci called for a game of boules and 16 friends competed with two balls each. This game is a tradition in the club. It is always a pleasure to see how ambitious the gentlemen are. They haggle over every centimeter to see whether this or that ball is closer to the target ball, which is no bigger than a golf ball. If in doubt, they measure with a ruler and there are often doubts, if not from one party, then from the other. There are said to have been legendary disputes in the past...

But in the end, fun always wins. And that's how it will be tomorrow, too, when we take the train to a local winery for a wine tasting in the late afternoon.
