30th March Quito

This morning we went to the TeleferiQo, one of the mountains around Quito. We were lucky with the weather, no rain and not so low-hanging clouds. From 3400 m it goes up to 4100 m. Up there we take a walk and Ralf and I are out of breath again. Phew. After that we visit Rumicocho, an ancient site that was built even before the Incas. The site was used for astronomical observations as well as observations of the sun's course over a year. Very interesting.

In the evening we were invited to a farewell dinner with Alberto's family. Oh, always sad to say goodbye!!
