Hello there!
I wanted to keep you updated about the trip to Jukäi - yes, okay, I know: UK! - with my Big One.
After my Big One drove us to the airport, we were finally off.
Because they did something in the UK called Brexit or something like that, my Big One had to go through checks at the airport again with the red booklet containing her photo. She said it used to be different. Well, I already know from the big trip that it was often the case that my Big Ones had to show the red booklet and someone stamped something in it.
But then we actually took to the skies. We flew to London:
My Big One actually booked a very small car. But then they didn't have one like she ordered, and instead, we got a very big one!
First, we drove south. Always nice overland. My Big One likes the little winding roads here and the countryside and so on. I can now understand it quite well.
On the way, we stopped at an inn. They are called pubs here and all look a little bit alike. They are often in old buildings and always have tap stations where various types of beer are served.
But since my Big One still had to drive, there was only lemonade.
I'm making sure our journey is safe and that nothing happens to my Big One (and of course to me) here.
Our first overnight stay was in Worthing on the south coast.
Today we are in Reading. Before that, we took a detour to Selsey and enjoyed the peace by the sea.
And here in Reading, my Big One met up with a few people. She has known them for quite some time but only 'online'. She has only seen them on TV - oh no, I mean on a computer screen. Via Zoom, she said. I don't quite know what that is. Anyway, they met personally today in a café. Wow, did they have a lot to talk about!
Afterward, we took a nice walk by the Thames. It was nice and quiet there.
Now we've settled into our lovely little accommodation. Our hostess welcomed us very nicely. It’s pleasantly quiet, and we have a great view into the greenery. We're going out briefly again to grab a little bite to eat. And tomorrow we will continue our journey towards Wales. That is also part of Jukäi, just like England. And there are other parts - but I haven't been there yet.
I will keep you posted.
Until then, all the best from Travis, the Buddy Bear.
