#Thailand Day 7 Railay Beach

Argitaratu: 13.06.2019

Ao Phra Nang Beach

After an equally fantastic breakfast (at least in terms of location), we head to the neighboring beach, Ao Phra Nang Beach.

The beach is separated from Railay Beach by a large rock. You have to take a path from Railay East between the rocks to get there.

There are stalactite caves and monkeys here.
Then the canyon opens up and you find yourself standing on the most beautiful beach I have ever seen.

The water is marvelous, so we jump into the sea.

But this beach is probably only empty during this season (it is not yet the holidays in China).

There is another cave on this beach. The Princess Cave. Legend has it that the wife of a fisherman who was lost at sea lived here. She spent the rest of her life in the cave, waiting for him to return.

Today, local fishermen offer Phra Nang figures with male genitalia (symbolizing the Hindu god Shiva). This offering is believed to protect them during sailing and bring abundant catches.

The beach is probably quite crowded during the high season, hence all the prohibition signs.

In the afternoon, we relax by the pool and the beach.

In the evening, we wait for the sunset, which is always prevented by clouds at the last moment🤦‍♀️

Railay Beach is a beautiful place. It's a shame that we're already moving on tomorrow. But we will definitely come back again.

But as I said before, it's probably only this beautiful during the low season.
