Today the actual round trip started. Interesting destinations were on our agenda, which is significantly less planned than the trip last year 😅.
Our first stop was Kaunas. An impressive city on the Neman River. It actually has a very southern flair. Beautiful street cafes, lots of ice cream, pizza, old buildings, and churches. The temperatures were also 29 degrees, not what we expected 😎.
After a delicious Italian lunch snack and a bit of strolling through the pedestrian zone, visiting St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, or as we call it: 'Something with Jesus again', we made our way towards Vilnius.
We did make a little stop in Trakai. Here you can find a beautiful water castle, very idyllic located in a large lake. Due to its proximity to Vilnius, it is completely overcrowded. Better to visit during the week, but it is truly worth seeing. Only the tourist crowds are annoying 😂.
The next stop was already our hotel in Vilnius. We are always amazed by the numerous German tourists. And we four right in the middle 👨👩👧👦 🙃
