08/22/2019. Today we visited the Clever Mine. This is a decommissioned copper and nickel mine. After being equipped with a flashlight, boots, helmet, and treasure map, we were able to explore the mine independently. The long, narrow, and sometimes quite low tunnels are a bit eerie. However, the water-filled pits are very beautiful, especially where light is coming in from above. We had to get used to the cold (about 2°C 🥶), and we should have taken up the offer of wearing warm jackets. For children, there is a treasure hunt in various difficulty levels. Symbols are hidden everywhere in the mine, which are then replaced by the correct letter at the end to form a solution word. There was a reward for this. Overall, it was impressive and interesting. However, I couldn't shake off the thought of how to get out in case of danger until we reached the exit.
But the mine itself was not the only thing worth visiting, there are a few other activities there, such as a climbing wall, a path where you must not touch the ground, or gold panning. Of course, we had to try the latter. Actually, we found a piece. Unfortunately, it was so small that we have to continue working on it after our vacation 😭.
The entire facility is lovingly designed and the operators are extremely nice. So we stayed there for quite a while, had coffee, ate cake, and in the end, grilled our own elk sausage 🌭. It was supposed to be very tasty 😋. I stuck to the cake.
