After returning to Earth, we continued to the National Palace Museum. After a short stay in the museum and its garden, we said goodbye to the other students who returned to Taichung.
We took the bus and the metro to the city center to go to our hostel. This was not easy. With a detailed guide, we finally found the small entrance to the hostel. We quickly settled into our room and took the metro towards Downtown, where we had dinner and enjoyed a drink in a cozy bar. However, the prices were outrageously high, so we decided to find a bar in the area of our hostel. Luckily, we found a nice bar not far from our hostel, where we ended the evening.
The next day was sightseeing day again. We visited two famous temples in Taipei: the Baoan Temple and the Longshan Temple. Although I have seen countless temples before, I am always impressed by the architecture and diversity.
We also did some fitness. We climbed Elephant Mountain to enjoy a better view of the Taipei 101. The veil-like mist around the Taipei 101 made it even more interesting. Afterwards, we walked through the Peace Park and enjoyed a late lunch at a Taiwanese restaurant.
At around 5:00 p.m., we started our journey back to Taichung because we all didn't want to be home too late. Unfortunately, that didn't happen;) We realized (not entirely unexpected) that on Sunday evenings, there was a rush for intercity buses from Taipei to Taichung. After about 3 hours of waiting on the floor, we finally made it onto a bus. For next time: it would be wise to make a reservation;)
