The autumn forest and mountains were beautiful. Nevertheless, we want to go back to the sea. Because it's warmer there. Actually, our plan somehow ended with visiting Plitvice Lakes. And now? Does the adventure begin now? Where do you go if everything seems possible? Stay in Croatia, go north and then to Italy, then on to Montenegro? We once thought about taking the ship across the Adriatic to Italy, but so far we haven't found a connection and have only heard hints about the end of the season.
The decisive factor is the search for other campsites the evening before in the campsite restaurant with chips and wine with the following premises: by the sea, as nice as possible and above all: still open. And so we set off on a wonderful autumn morning to Autocamp Marijo on one of the 47 inhabited Croatian islands called Uglijan. Our ferry port is Zadar.
The crossing is nice and far too short. After half an hour we are already in Preko and turn right on the only existing north-south road.
It's hard to believe, but almost at the northernmost tip of the island, Dania welcomes us to her idyllic spot with coffee and herbal liqueur. Her father-in-law turned this place into a campsite 47 years ago and now runs it with her family. We want to stay here. Besides us, there is another family on site.
