Our cabin was on the outside and at the front, two floors above the T5 Orange, which was parked with centimeter precision.
We admired the puzzle from the aft deck as the ship was being loaded. The trucks were well distributed and there was always a car in between. The trucks all rolled backwards into the belly of the ship.
The journey began through calm waters between all the islands. When we got out to sea it suddenly went up and down. We were rocked well to sleep and listened to the waves lapping at the bow. The sea became calmer the closer we got to Italy.
The Marko Polo (built in 1973) rocked us beautifully and we were greeted by a fantastic sunrise in Italy.
Then the big unloading of the master puzzle began! We kept asking ourselves why things weren't moving forward. Various things needed individual attention. Especially every truck to get to land over the steep ramp. Here too, centimeter precision work. Every vice is different. One of them then barely touched down. And we watched with fascination with how calmly and creatively everyone managed to get through without getting stuck up or down or up and down! Logistics is really exciting.
Almost at last we were allowed to roll ashore!
We checked into Fusina Camping in the late afternoon. Our parking space in the 1st row by the water! The logistics continued here! The bowsier was careful when a large ship with a load of cement left the port. Grimaldi lines loaded cars and left later and some other container ships were escorted.
Logistics day.
