From our motel, we set off to Saint-Remy-de-Provence today. As expected, the engine light accompanied us on the way. Once we arrived in the small town, we treated ourselves to a coffee. Then, the shopping tour could begin. There are many decoration shops, studios, and boutiques here. We even managed to get one of the beloved Campomaggi bags. Yippieh! The next short stop was Glanum, due to time constraints, we only visited the Triumphal Arch and the Mausoleum. Our route to Aix en Provence led through the Alpilles. The silver mountains, the vineyards, and the olive trees gave us the feeling of the 'real' Provence. We drove through many beautiful villages and past flocks of sheep until we arrived in Aix. Once again, we were lucky with parking, as it is included in our overnight stay at the Spa Hotel Aquabella. As quickly as possible, we made our way into the city, which is just as beautiful as we imagined. Many cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, squares, and fountains. And above all, a lot of flair and life. We wandered through the old town and then warmed up in the spa. They call it Savoir vivre.
In the evening, we set out again, just letting ourselves go. We ended up at the Tapas Cafe, surrounded by tourists, students, and French people. Real tapas in a French atmosphere, simply delicious and cozy. We reminisced about our day in the elegant hotel bar (we were in jeans and t-shirt) with a nightcap.
