...the day started early, both woke up at 02:00 am. There was no more sleeping. So we used the time to write the blog and plan the next days in Singapore. At 05:00 am we were tired and tried to sleep again. When we woke up again at 09:00 am, it was raining heavily. So we decided to sleep more and woke up at 12:00 pm again - in dry conditions, mind you.
Then it was time to pack and go! Today we visited the famous Orchard Road, which is one of the best shopping streets in the world, and the botanical garden. With a travel map and charged phone batteries, we set off and soon arrived at Orchard Rd, with a stopover in Little India. When we talk about large shopping malls in Switzerland, they are gigantic and all connected underground. Consequently, there is a lot to buy - but we didn't buy anything. Especially about 10x Gucci, 11x Cartier, 12x Louis Vuitton, etc. were on-site. But the most disturbing thing at outdoor temperatures of over 30°C are the Christmas decorations and songs in the shops.
So we quickly moved on and visited the botanical garden of Singapore, which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage. Countless species of plants and trees can be seen, including a rainforest section. To our amazement, there were three wedding couples on the site within 500m, taking photos. To give our feet some rest, we took the MRT back to Marina Bay, where we wanted to see the light and water show. When we got off the metro at 19:15 pm, we were very surprised that it was already dark. Because we had just boarded 15 minutes ago when it was still light.
On top of the Escalade (concert hall), we attended the moderately attractive show at 20:00 pm. The view over the entire Bay itself was much more interesting.
Afterwards, we enjoyed ourselves at the cozy Barosso. Then we took a little detour to see the galleons figure of Singapore, which gave the city its name. Finally, we made our way back home and reached the hotel at 23:00 pm. Once again, today we covered more than 15km. Let's see what we do tomorrow...
