Crazy beautiful Delhi

Argitaratu: 05.07.2018

Three days in Delhi - I had the most respect for it before. 16 million people live here and many people told me that Delhi can be loud, dirty, and dangerous for solo travelers.

With a bit of a nervous feeling, I made my way into the chaos of the Indian metropolis and was surprised by the many beautiful sides I discovered despite the noise and garbage and the constant questioning of the Indians whether I wanted to shop, have Henna done, or take a rickshaw tour with them.

I discovered my favorite café right in the heart of Delhi: OpenHand Café. It was my oasis in the heat and chaos of Delhi. Located right on Main Bazaar, just 3 minutes away from my hotel room, it was my refuge when I just wanted a nice and quiet place.

In such a short time, I could only explore a few corners of Delhi: I admired the Lotus Temple of Baha'i, relaxed as I drifted from temple to temple in Old Delhi, and experienced India in its purest form in this district. At Connaught Place, I momentarily forgot that I was in India because everything looked like it did at home. On the way to India Gate, I almost gave up because it took not 15 minutes (according to the travel agency) but 30 minutes to walk there. Alone and in the heat of Delhi, that was no longer fun...

I completely left behind the stress of this experience the next day when I enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of Lodhi Gardens. A great ending before I enjoyed my last Paneer Parantha in the afternoon and made my way to the airport to fly to Bangkok.
