Day 4, new clothes

After a windy and cold day on the downhill track, Peter Giger and I are now allowed to move to the technical track, where we can cable the mountain in the next few days.

First, we were able to receive our new ski clothes in a noble ski backpack. There was already a list of people on the wall who would like to exchange unsuitable clothing. This is a bit surprising, as we were already allowed to provide all imaginable body measurements in advance.

The finish area looks very impressive. Huge steel beams were used here. Work is not quite the right word here, as work is still being done at full speed. Scaffolding is being erected, welded and all sorts of things are still being worked on. Some fitters have made a fire so that they can warm up a bit in between. But what is already completely finished is the official souvenir shop. Even the light works and everything is already set up.

We were able to take the chairlift up and align the cables at the men's start of the giant slalom. The Koreans did a great job and created a perfect and generous pipe crossing with a total of 4 pipes. One was enough for us. Now we were able to pull the cables to the other side and cable behind the A-net along the trees to camera 6 and 7. At camera 8, a slot was cut using a chainsaw, the cable was laid with the skis and then the trench was "filled in" again.

In the evening, it was time to check the new OBS clothing (Olympic Broadcast Services) to see if everything was packed and if the clothes fit. And lo and behold, everything fits almost like a glove.
