Christian
Hallo ihr beiden. Gratulation an euch von Maria Daniel und Christian. Da habt ihr wirklich was geleistet. Unglaublich. Alles Gute und schlaft gut. :)Argitaratu: 29.07.2017
After waking up again, way too early for us, at 5:50am, we quickly got dressed, packed our prepared sandwiches, and headed to the bus that took us to the start of the Trolltunga hike.
Still fully motivated, we climbed the first 5km with only a short break for a drink.
The next section, where we hiked with snow, strong wind, and sun, started to show signs of fatigue.
We thought we had already conquered most of the elevation gain in the first section, but then we saw what was still ahead of us: a huge amount of giant stone steps!
Not very motivated, we set off and did our best to reach our destination as quickly as possible.
After completing the second ascent, we continued more or less on the flat terrain. It became increasingly uncomfortable, as the hike was no longer a walk in the park.
We crossed waterfalls, various streams, and walked on stone slabs.
Our strength and patience dwindled with every meter, and in the end, we decided that if our destination wasn't just beyond the next small ascent, we would turn back.
And oh wonder - it was the last ascent to the stunning view of the fjords of Norway! Full of joy, we lined up for the incredible photos. But soon, we started shivering. We put on everything we had and still turned into icicles.
After taking photos and having a little snack, it was time: We had to do it all over again!
Our motivation was initially quite high, but it faded with every obstacle.
After another 5 hours, we finally returned to the starting point and looked forward to the bus that would take us home shortly after.
We are completely exhausted now and are looking forward to being able to sleep in tomorrow! Greetings with blisters and joint pain!
Despite all the complaints and the incredible fatigue - it was more than worth it!
(Side fact: 40km on foot > climbing)
