Day 14 - Free Camping near Lillehammer

So here we are in Lillehammer. Completely without snow. Not for skiing or jumping, just for shopping. It went well at the shopping center. If I understood the sign correctly, the first 2 hours have no parking fee. Quick stop for a coffee at Starbucks and a bagel for breakfast in the center.

Now let's give free camping a try... by a lake. Allowed here. Terribly boring because the nearest hiking trails don't start until 3 km away... until then, you have to walk on the road. It's incredibly annoying. John has gone jogging to explore the area. You can hear the road here, but that's the same at many paid campsites, usually, it’s quiet at night.

The weather is wonderful, the parking is free, and the view is once again unparalleled. I now understand why so many say 'Norway is beautiful everywhere.'

Tomorrow we’ll head past Oslo into Sweden.
