Tag 5 and 6 Matamata

The journey begins with Emma. Our first stop: Matamata.

We spent our first night in the camper van on a small farm overlooking green hills with cows and animal neighbors (chickens and a cuddly sheep). This is the life!

The next day, we drove to the film set of The Lord of the Rings in Hobbiton and guess what: the next available tour started in 45 minutes :). With blue skies and sunshine, and what felt like a million other people, we explored the world of the hobbits and learned a lot about the filming process! At the end, we enjoyed a homemade cider at the Green Dragon. It was truly amazing!

In the afternoon, we hiked through a green rainforest landscape to the Blue Springs. An incredibly clear spring river that lives up to its name!

What a day!
