Bitten by the dog

Argitaratu: 10.02.2018

Last night everything turned out differently than expected. Actually, we were supposed to go to Asunción for a birthday party.

So we were getting ready when Meche's dog Kimba, a Pitbull, started rummaging through the trash.

Meche immediately took everything away from him. In that moment, I walked into the kitchen and scratched my leg when the dog suddenly bit me with full force.

We just don't know why... Meche was able to pull him away by his collar. When I ran out of the kitchen cursing in German, I only discovered two very deep holes filled with blood in my arm. At least Kimba let go right away and didn't tear any further. Luckily, I was still able to move my fingers.

Sergio immediately put me in the car and we went to the hospital.

The wounds were flushed out and thoroughly disinfected. Since the holes are very deep, they had to be stitched up with one stitch each.

Now I have to take antibiotics and strong painkillers for 5 days. In addition, I have to visit the doctor every day, have the wounds cleaned, and check for possible infections.

Also, I'm not allowed/should not drive a car. Great!

My mood is currently in the basement.

Today it rained for the first time and it cooled down a bit! How nice!

So when it rains in Paraguay, it really pours. Unlike in Germany, it turns into a heavy downpour for about an hour, and then it gets warm again. The streets fill up with so much water that cars can hardly move. In addition, there are frequent power outages, as the power lines somehow hang around here.

In the evening, I helped Meche get ready for a wedding she was invited to. The church ceremony started at 10:00 p.m.!!

For such events, people in Paraguay dress up greatly. Seeing and being seen!
