Since I spontaneously got a few days off and Malte is also free, we fly to Porto.
The first day was spent with the journey and a really interesting city tour, where we got to know all the spots and learned a lot about the history of Porto / Portugal. Btw. Porto consists of two parts, similar to Budapest, divided by the river.
Porto and Gaia and if you put it all together, saying "Portogaia", you could almost come to "Portugal". ;)
The evening is spent as usual in the club district. It is interesting how open-minded the people here are, although maybe a bit unusual for reserved Westphalians.
In plano b, the bar we are in, relaxed music is playing and the drinks are affordable, but at some point we realize that more and more people are coming into the place, but it doesn't seem to be filling up.
After a short observation, it becomes clear that people are going down an inconspicuous staircase, which we obviously do too, so we suddenly find ourselves in a club, techno&house floor, as well as a mainstream floor. So it's going well for us.
A bit battered, we head into day 2, to be precise to Matusinhos, on the other side of the river and up the coast, going by metro - walking back. (about 7km) We walk quite comfortably for about 4 hours with a mixed group of people from Australia, USA, Switzerland and Germany.
It is worth mentioning the Francesinha at this point, a very strange dish. Toast, meat, sausage, cheese and cheese on top, all bathed in a slightly spicy sauce. I've had better food...
I can absolutely recommend Porto, it's beautiful here, nice people and the prices are right!
