On Wednesday (11.01.23), I met the group for the first time that I will be exploring the East Coast of Australia with for the next 21 days. 20 women embarking on an adventurous journey together.
After a short city tour of Sydney, we boarded the bus to Byron Bay at 7 pm. 11 hours on the bus, a tiring journey with little sleep, but when we got off, we were rewarded with a beautiful sea in a very relaxed surfer town.
On the first day, we took a walk into the center, then we went to the beach and enjoyed the sun a bit. In the evening, we had our welcome dinner.
We started the second day in Byron Bay with a sunrise. Then we went to the easternmost point of Australia in a small group. The path along the coast was very beautiful and we were able to watch many surfers during the morning surf.
After a yoga session, we rented bicycles and rode around Byron Bay. Then the beach invited us to an afternoon in the sun and big waves. In the evening, after a typical Australian BBQ (sausage with a slice of toast), we went to a piano bar. Two pianists took turns fulfilling the song requests of the guests.
Surfers Paradise - the next stop was Surfers Paradise. There, I was able to test whether I have a talent for surfing or not for the first time. My conclusion: it was definitely fun and I was even able to stand on the surfboard a few times. After the tour, I will definitely take surfing lessons again.
