In the morning we visit the Canterburry Museum (right next to the botanical garden). Very diverse, Maori, birds, animals. Air New Zealand has its own department with their history (we'll stay here longer), Arctic expeditions, etc. Then we drive in the rain to Geraldine, where we find our overnight spot in a quiet side street.
