After a delicious breakfast in front of the bus, we continue on our journey. We drive through the beautiful town of Brønnøysund again and are amazed that even here the public green areas are maintained by self-driving lawnmowers. We often see this in the municipalities here... admirable... they wouldn't drive for more than 20 minutes in our country...!
To follow the coastal road a little further, we take the ferry from Vennesund to Holm (about 20 minutes)! However, this time we skip the instant mashed potatoes and instead enjoy the great view on deck. After that, we continue, but we get a little lost for a moment, we wanted to stay on the coastal road...! This slight detour costs us the next ferry. Just as we reach Hofles, we see the Olav departing...we are 5 minutes late... darn it!
But why should we be upset, it is what it is and the sun is shining, and we don't have a deadline either. We get a cup of coffee and sit by the water with the dog. After 1.5 hours, the Olav returns and we cross over to Lund. Today is ferry day... we have never taken so many ferries before... it's like taking a bus here!
We drive on some country roads and according to the map, Namsos, where we want to find a spot, should almost be visible. But there doesn't seem to be anything like a bigger city here... we joke that when we come out of the tunnel, we will probably be directly in Rock city Namsos... and that's exactly how it is... kind of crazy...!
Namsos proudly declares itself as Rock city everywhere, even the supermarket where we stop quickly. However, we then realize that there is nothing like Rock city here. We are surprised in the beer section (we haven't been there for a long time) that there are curtains in front... hmmm... and there is something Norwegian written on them... whatever... we grab some! At the checkout, the cashier tries to scan the beer cans multiple times... in vain... even if we would like to pass for under 18, that can't be the reason, right? No, after the lady looked at the clock, the problem is clarified. It's after 6 p.m., which means you can't buy alcohol anymore... what's going on here??? Not only is the stuff ridiculously expensive, now you also have to keep an eye on the time...! You should try that with us... no, sorry, it's after 6 p.m... revolt!
Well, this rocks here...! We leave the supermarket without beer and find a campsite at the airport. The reception is no longer manned and you are supposed to simply put a note with your phone number and email address in the mailbox, okay!
We drink Capri Sun, luckily you can still buy it after 6 p.m. here, and have a delicious dinner (meatballs with potatoes and gravy, yum) and go to bed early, after watching a small plane land in the middle of the campsite.
