The Sound of Silence

Argitaratu: 28.03.2018

Hello my dear ones!

My day started at 5:30 with the alarm clock ringing, which I luckily don't hear often here in NZ. However, getting up early was definitely worth it, because today we had a boat and kayak tour through Doubtful Sound, which is actually a fjord and not a sound.

By the way, Doubtful Sound, also known as 'The Sound of Silence', is one of 14 sounds in Fiordland National Park, which should actually be spelled Fjordland, and is located on the west coast of the southern part of the South Island.

We were picked up by the bus at 6 o'clock and then went to the harbor to take the boat across Lake Manapouri and then take the bus to Doubtful Sound. Once there, after changing clothes to look sexy enough and a short briefing, we finally got into the kayaks and then finally onto the water.

Within the approximately 4 hours on the water, we saw incredibly beautiful spots, rainbows, waterfalls, ... and whatever else Mother Nature has conjured up.

Afterwards, we went back to the boat by bus, back across the lake and then back to the holiday park where the car was parked.

After a short break in Te Anau, we got back in the car and headed south, through the stunning natural landscape, over hills and rocks, all the way to the southernmost coast of New Zealand.

Once we arrived at the ocean, we made a stop to go to the water and take some pictures.

Next, we drove to Monkey Islands, not only to climb the little mountain there, but also to drive around on the beach with the car and enjoy the view.

When we arrived in Invercargill, we grabbed a pizza at Dominos and then drove to the campground, where we met Fabian again, whom I met for the first time in Auckland, then coincidentally met again in Rotorua, and now coincidentally met again.

Now it's time to go to bed and I wish you a good night, a good afternoon, or a good morning.

I hope you're doing well, sending you hugs, and I wish you all the best.

Yours, Miri ☺️☺️
