After the museum, we were quite tired because walking and reading for 3 hours makes you tired. So we go to Central Park, which is right outside the museum door, and rest there for a while. So we bought ice cream, chips, and coffee and sat on a nice bench.
But then it starts again... there is a small lake up ahead, behind it a beautiful hill of stones, someone is playing the drums right in the middle of Central Park, oh there is a playground? And we're walking and marveling again. But it's worth it, what a great park! There are over 26,000 trees here and you forget about the big city. Oh yeah, and in just under three hours, we only managed to see half of the park :-)
As soon as we leave the park, the city grabs you. Quickly eat a corn dog and churros, then off to the next big wish of the birthday kid. The next destination: the LEGO Store on 5th Avenue - we discovered it yesterday, it's right next to Nike. On 5th Avenue, we show the kids all the expensive stores where we will definitely not buy anything: so a short lesson on Prada, Armani, Dolce & Co.
When we arrived at the LEGO Store, we had to wait in line.... And what can I say? It was worth it: we designed our own LEGO figure, which is then printed on the spot and you can take it home. Happy Birthday! We couldn't be prouder, we thought...
