The last 2 weeks flew by. We really enjoyed our last days in Blenheim, we made a bonfire on the beach (including marshmallows) and our farewell barbecue at the winery was really good. We played both golf and pétanque, had good food and, of course, plenty of wine. It was really strange to leave on Saturday morning with Dani, considering we spent a total of 3 months in Blenheim, and it made me really sad to see the field where our tents and cars were parked so empty. But we were also happy to see something new, so off we went to Christchurch. On the way, we stopped in Hanmer Springs to visit the thermal pool. In Christchurch, we met Tristan again and spent the evening together.
On Monday, Bella and I went to 'Waimak River Horse Treks' where we did 10 days of wwoofing. Our tasks included feeding, saddling, and grooming the horses, and for me, also accompanying the rides, since I have been riding for several years. At first, we didn't like it very much because the owners weren't very friendly, but over time it got better, and the other employees and helpers, as well as the children who came to ride, were really nice. The food was especially good. On one of our days off, we went to Akaroa, unfortunately the weather wasn't good, but it was still a nice trip that we ended with a very delicious meal at the restaurant.
Two days ago we finally sold our car, unfortunately for less than we had hoped, but at least we got rid of it. After that, we took a tram tour through the city center of Christchurch, and today we took the gondola up one of the mountains in the area.
And now I'm already at the airport, because unfortunately there are no buses here at night, so we have a 10-hour layover at the airport before we head to Melbourne.
