San Marcos La Laguna (Guatemala)

After a 38-hour journey with an overnight stay at the airport in Costa Rica, we arrived in Guatemala tired but full of anticipation.

Our accommodation is located on a hill overlooking Lake Atitlan and the surrounding volcanoes.

San Marcos is a nice little town on the shore of the lake with many good restaurants and friendly people.

We are staying at 'Casa Jaguar' together with our friend Simone, some other backpackers, and the host Tarn.

This place is wonderful for relaxation and offers many activities. We will stay here until early January.

The jungle, which dominates the landscape here, starts right behind our accommodation.
