Day 8 Lake Powell

Today we woke up at 8 o'clock and had to have breakfast in the camper involuntarily, as it was too hot outside with 34 degrees in the shade. A little later we also had the pleasure of unclogging the toilet. After this exercise, we (Markus, Marielle and I, Christoph) felt like taking a bath in the cool lake. So we set off towards the boat dock, but when we arrived there, an employee told us that the beach was about 20 minutes in the opposite direction. So we set off and marched through the desert until we arrived at the beach, sweating. However, the refreshing water was murky and the beach was small. After cooling off, we soon went back and met Mommy and Daddy in front of the small camp shop. We had a drink and headed to the boat dock because we really wanted to take a boat tour. We set off to the harbor, parked the camper, walked downhill in the heat, only to find out that we had to go to the other harbor. We turned back and drove in the other direction. Finally, we arrived at the right place and booked (with permission) a very expensive boat tour. We also had to wait a long time before we were allowed to board the ship. The trip started and it was very beautiful. We saw the dam and the bridge up close and could also admire Antelope Canyon. After one and a half hours, the tour was over and we returned to our vehicle. On the way back, we made a detour to Page to refuel and buy groceries (enough meat for five hungry mouths). We had excellent food and drinks and slowly retired to our chambers.
