Ubud... The second

Argitaratu: 23.06.2019

And another two days are over. I'm still in Ubud and tomorrow I'm heading to the next city.. Amed

But first, let's talk about the last two days. On Saturday morning, I booked a rafting tour and we started early. The driver was already there shortly after eight o'clock and off we went to the meeting point. Another German was also in the car, so we started talking. After three-quarters of an hour, we arrived at the meeting point, got our rafting gear, and then we were off.. First, we had to go down about 5432 steps and then into the cold water. We shared the boat with a family from Jakarta.

The ride lasted 2 hours and was incredibly fun. After that, we had a huge buffet and then went back to the hotel. I had half an hour to catch my breath and then it was time for the next event... cooking class...

At this point, I want to say a big thank you to Michél, who organized everything. I believe it was purely for his own benefit, so that the guys' night can also have something Balinese, but a gift horse...

At least it wasn't an ordinary cooking class. No, I had a private lesson with two chefs in the middle of rice fields and of course, there was a private driver as well. He told me all about the culture. Awesome stuff man... A white man once said that contacts only harm those who don't use them... And if you already know someone in the tourist industry...

In the evening, I met up with some people I met in Ubud. All I had to do was walk through the Monkey Forest at night in complete darkness. The trees were shaking constantly and wild sounds came from every corner. Well, after I made it through and had to put on a fresh pair of panties, I realized that a monkey had nicely pooped on my shirt. The old Chinese proverb fits again... If you have shit on your shirt, you have shit on your shirt...

Well, on Sunday, I set off again with the scooter 😉 The first stop was the Bandung Waterfall. A really beautiful waterfall where you can go swimming and there is 'Holy Water'. The waterfall is still under construction, but definitely a MUST-SEE on every visit to Bali. Not touristy at all and really nice people. After that, we went to the Kite Festival. I had arranged to meet Paul there on Tuesday. I was actually thinking of kite surfing, but in the end it was just flying kites. These kites were 8-10m long and there were thousands of people. The ride there was also an experience in itself. Riding the scooter on the highway and that with these 'traffic rules'. But everything went well and it was another fantastic day.

At first, I really thought, wow 3 weeks in Bali, that's going to be really relaxed. Small island, not much traveling and lots of lounging around. Well, think again, my itinerary seems to change every hour. I have now planned the next stop in the north. After that, I still don't know whether to go left or right or maybe back to the south... One doesn't know... Let's be surprised...
