Basel / Southern Baden and the Old Rhine / Kleines Wiesental in the Black Forest
Finally, Ronny is running again. After a long back and forth, I have now decided on a name. As a traveler said to me a few days ago, the bus needs a name, otherwise it doesn't work.
So now I could start my 10-day dress rehearsal with Ronny and Mahin.
We have had our bus back for two weeks now, and yes, it is a strange feeling of slight overwhelm that it is finally starting or has started. The first few days we spent at a lovely spot on the Old Rhine in Southern Baden, met great vagabond-like people, enjoyed the sun, lived minimally, and got used to LT Ronny again after a very bumpy start to the bus journey.
First, I had to look at what I packed into the bus in Berlin three months ago, essential and unnecessary things, and then rearrange and sort them out again.
Ronny now has a reconditioned cylinder head and other fitness enhancers recommended by the dear mechanic Gerd. So I spent the first few days on the Rhine with clearing out, painting, looking, feeling good, lying around, swimming, cooking, chatting, taking walks, picking flowers, and getting to know people.
The last few days I spent in the Black Forest, in the Kleines Wiesental. Black Forest idyll with epic charm, just to our taste.
Afterwards, I tested the bus thoroughly and gently pushed it through the Black Forest, up to the Schauinsland - so far it's still holding up :)
Our outlook: now that the bus is finally fit again, we want to start a tour of Germany, starting in Switzerland, along Lake Constance, to the Allgäu. Then heading north... keep your fingers crossed for us.
Ahoi with kisses
Mahin and Vanessa
