Eltz Castle is truly a hidden gem located near Koblenz, Germany. Surrounded by a small forest, you will be amazed when you see it.
The castle is over 850 years old!
Every 15 minutes or so, you can take a short tour through the castle. I highly recommend it! Very interesting and informative. Unfortunately, you cannot take any pictures while inside.
If you go on a day that is somewhat cloudy or rainy, you'll get some good pictures with that froggy/spooky medieval times feel.
By the way, from 1961 to 1995, the German 500 DM banknote featured a view of Eltz Castle.
