The Quart Towers were part of a medieval city wall that surrounded the old town and played an important role in the history of Valencia, as their main purpose was to defend the city against possible enemy attacks. The towers were built between 1441 and 1460. In Gothic style with pointed arches, the Torres de Quart were constructed with lime and pebbles. The façade still bears the marks from an attack on the city in 1808. These towers were the main entrance to Valencia from the Kingdom of Castile. Today, they are still a place of interest for visitors, marking the beginning of the city's historic center.
