Ningaloo Reef to Exmouth

Coral Bay is a small fishing village with incredibly long sandy beaches and dunes. Many small bays where the Ningaloo Reef reaches the shore. A true snorkeling paradise. In a bay called Five Finger Reef, we had the pleasure of observing the colorful underwater world in the shallow water. Rafaela made a great discovery - a stingray half hidden in the sand, waiting for its prey. We couldn't get enough of it, so we admired the many colorful and large fish with their colorful corals until the sun kissed the ocean.

On a day tour by boat, we were able to snorkel with the big fish. The first stop was a huge colorful coral where two reef sharks were hanging out. The children and Patrik were calm, but Jeanette's heart skipped a beat.

Then a little further in the crystal clear water with only fine sandy bottom, we met Woopy, a three-meter manta ray. With gentle movements of its huge wings, it seemed as if it was flying, simply magical.....

In Cape Range National Park, we were able to camp almost directly on the beach. After a relaxing day, we observed the hustle and bustle at Yardi Creek a little further north. This is a large freshwater river that flows into the sea. Normally, you can drive through the river all the way to Exmouth (which we also wanted to do), but due to heavy rain a few weeks ago, the river had too much water and we didn't dare to drive through it.

Heading further north (with a detour on the normal road), we arrived in Exmouth. A small but very lively town at the northernmost point of Western Australia. After a proper shower and a delicious dinner of 'Australian steak', we enjoyed the sundown at the lighthouse.
