27-30|12|2019, Go for the apples!🍎

Argitaratu: 30.12.2019

Hi guys,

red apples, green apples, small apples, big apples, apples, apples, apples...

For the past 4 days, as you may already guess, we've been working with apples.

We are already immersed in our daily work routine. Our first day started with a brief welcome from our boss. After a quick tour of the facility, he presented us with a huge stack of paperwork that we all had to sign. As usual, it was mostly a lot of talk with little substance, so the new arrivals, including us, decided to sign. Shortly after, we started working.

I would like to explain more, but the job basically involves sorting out bad apples from a conveyor belt and packaging the remaining apples into various trays. It's as boring as it sounds, but it's not a problem for us. The only problem we have is with our bosses, who approach the situation a bit "unfairly" and are completely inconsiderate of the fact that these are our first days and it's been hard on us. Every "mistake" is discussed in detail, but no one seems to notice when we do something well. After only 4 days, two out of the six new employees have already left, and the remaining four, including us, are also relatively dissatisfied.

However, we have already become good friends with the other two workers, Richard & Lara, a German-English couple, and in the end, we take it all with as much humor as possible. Since talking during work is strictly forbidden, we have to keep our thoughts to ourselves until the next break, but that's going well so far. Deep down, we all hope for improvement once we get more "in sync" with working together, and if that doesn't happen, we'll just look for another job on the side and take as much money as possible in the meantime. After all, the main focus is still that we're not working for fun at the end of the day, but to finance an amazing trip, right?😊

My dad would have said, "It'll be fine, and if not, then not."

For the time we're working here, we decided to live at a campground near our workplace. It's not really nice, and it doesn't offer much, but it does have a somewhat functional shower and a refrigerator, and that's all we need.

I'm very excited to see how the next few days at work will go. For now, we'll make the best of it and see it as a new experience that is also filling our bank account.🍏🍎

Greetings from Stanthorpe, Australia!🇦🇺

Your Tim!😊

Drücke euch die Daumen und hoffe das es mit dem nächsten Job klappt. Wer so mit seinen Helfern umgeht, der hat euch nicht verdient. Bis dahin, keep smiling and carry on ;)
