Hello, the forest fairy!:) - Madeira Day 1

Hello dear ones, today I am reporting for the first time from the flower island Madeira! Train to the airport and the flight itself went smoothly. Unfortunately, I didn't account for the time difference (-1h). So instead of a 3.5-hour flight, it turned out to be a 4.5-hour flight.

Madeira is a beautiful island! Just before landing, I was able to take a photo of the equally beautiful neighboring island Porto Santo (see gallery). With the hotel transfer, I arrived at the hotel in Funchal within 20 minutes. By the way, Funchal with its 111,000 inhabitants is the capital of the autonomous region of Madeira. The hotel is very modern - I like it!

As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I went on a discovery tour. After taking a photo of the beautiful water feature in the courtyard of the town hall, I briefly visited the Jesuit monastery to disrupt the ongoing mass (you can find evidence of this photo in the gallery)! :D

Afterwards, I went to the port of Funchal and took a picture of the excursion ship 'Santa Maria'. If old Columbus knew what they were doing with his old apple boat! ;) No, just kidding - of course, it's only a replica - but I'm pretty sure they're making a profit with it!*g*

Tomorrow, I will be out exploring the island all day and will bring back spectacular pictures. Promise.
