Shabbat Shalom! Really now?

Argitaratu: 25.10.2019

Wow, where should I start...

It all started at half past one in the morning. And even on time.
Those who know us better know that this happened about zero times in the past 20 years.
So it could only be good ;).

We arrived in Berlin Tegel almost half dead.
I can't say much about the journey, because after a bottle of wine in the evening, I gave up on sleeping and probably made up for it during the drive (was that tactic?).

Four hours later and we are at immigration control.

'Kenan Aydin. What is your relation to the rest?'

'Astrid is my mother and the others are my siblings.
I have a different last name because it is my father's.'

'What is your profession? What is your father's name? And what is your grandfather's name?'

Did Kenan's answer, saying that he can list more names, lead to everyone getting their passports back -except him- and us waiting for another 20 minutes until they realized that Kenan (and his ancestors lol) are relatively harmless? We can only speculate :D.

Now we are in Tel Aviv. Our rental car is almost as big as a truck, and when looking for a parking space, we start questioning why we complained about the parking situation in Nuremberg so quickly.
For the best advice on how to lock the car, so that all doors are simultaneously locked, ask Kenan, and for advice on how to exchange Euros to Shekels in a sex shop, ask my father ;)
(what one does to change money for food on Shabbat xD).

And what did we eat first in Israel? Pizza, of course.
Even though that wasn't our plan (like many things so far), we all agree: That was the best pizza ever!
Who would have thought to top it with dates? Amazing.

After 18 hours of travel, we arrived at the accommodation where we will stay for the next two nights, very exhausted.

It's hard to put into words what this place is like...
In short: This is exactly how I imagine the Garden of Eden ^^.
We will definitely take plenty of pictures of it tomorrow ;)

But did you know that there is a pool in the Garden of Eden?

Our plan for tomorrow is to celebrate Romana and Paul's baptism in the Jordan. Spoiler: I won't drink wine...
