Day 14: In the morning, we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on our farm, have breakfast outdoors, and admire the farm animals marching around us.
Later in the morning, we head to Ohrid, located on Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia. We cross the border, and the Albanian customs stop us. We have to drive over a pit, like at a car inspection. All the cabinets are opened, and the customs officers stick their noses everywhere. Eventually, they reveal that they are looking for drugs. They have no luck with us 😀
In Ohrid, we find a nice parking spot on the beach promenade. We leisurely stroll along the promenade to the city center. Then, we go around the largely natural peninsula where the Church of St. John at Kaneo is located - the most popular photo subject in the whole country. But the path itself is also a lot of fun. We enjoy the wide view over the lake and the many flowers we discover along the way.
For the grand finale, we treat ourselves to a culinary delight at a restaurant with a view of the lake. Birgit is thrilled with her Ohrid trout, which is said to have been flown in for the Queen.
