Karijini National Park is one of the largest national parks in Western Australia. The park is located in the Pilbara Range.
During the two days, we did many hikes and swimming stops. Sometimes it felt like climbing more than walking, but it was fun. We visited Weano Gorge with its Handrail Pool, Joffre Falls, Hancock Gorge, Dales Gorge, and Knox Gorge. In Dales Gorge, there is the Fortescue Fall, which has existed for 3500 million years.
We made a nice acquaintance with an Australian couple. They are 23 years old and also honeymooning on the west coast. After this sociable evening, we exchanged numbers and hopefully will see each other again soon.
We find the park interesting and beautiful. However, the campgrounds are overpriced and have nothing to offer (only 1 shower for all guests with a time limit of 4 minutes per person). We would not necessarily take the detour of 800 km again unless we had as much time as we do now.
Around noon, we drove to the nearest town, Tom Price, where we spent the night and booked a tour of an iron ore mine for Saturday.
